Addie will be 3 in December. She’s had a lot of baby questions since we told her we were pregnant. When I got pregnant with Emma, Addie was 8 months old. When Emma was born, Addie was 17 months and could barely say the word “baby.” It’s pretty fun to be enjoying the anticipation with her.
Conversations with Addie (almost 3) from October & November, 2015.
A: I like God and babies.
A: Is it time for the baby to come yet? Is Emma 2? When Emma is 2, then we will have another little baby because I am a big girl and emma is a baby but then she will not be a baby, she will be 2 like me! #kinda
(while driving in the car)
A: Ohhhh good thinkin’ lincoln! (something i say to her sometimes)
#goodidea #genderneutral Haha!
Scene: Addie is sitting on my lap, first thing in the morning, facing me and snuggling with her head on my shoulders. She pops her head up, smiles, and starts stroking my boobs. Then says… “Mommy is this the baby in your tummy?”
I showed her this video from baby center on what’s going on with the baby in the womb from 0-9 weeks. The other day, she asked to watch it, and I said, well the baby is growing more, so we’ll watch another video instead (the 10-14 week video). The narrator explains that the baby will start moving a lot as the simulated baby in the video is moving a lot. Addie was so pumped.
A: I think it’s trying to lay down. It’s okay baby, you can go to sleep in mommy’s tummy because it’s cozy.
